BlueWines – Existio Test

Ten generations of love for the land

The winery is part of a farm that produced olive oil and wheat, which together with the vineyards, were the main types of crops in that Mallorca of the 18th century. Pedro Ribas de Cabrera built the winery in 1711 in Consell, near the vineyards, marking the beginning of an activity that has been in the family’s hands for ten generations. His father, Pere Joan Ribas, had moved to Consell by marriage from the agricultural estate Cabrera in Algaida.

At the winery, stone vats were installed for fermenting the wines and “botes congrenyades” (ringed boots) for their storage. His son, Mateo Ribas, was the one who built the cellar in 1774 and the family home in 1776.
